what are the different weights of barbells?
the barbells at my gym (for the squat, deadlift, and bench press) which are standard 45 pound olympic bars, seem much lighter than the barbell at my house, i did 10 reps of 105 pounds at my gym and tried it at home and i only got 3 to 4 reps
they are both 7 foot long olympic barbells…i dont know what else to say, the one at home is the same type and feel but it is definetly heavier i know this also because its thicker
there both simple weight benches, a bench with a rack with a barbell, its not a machine, the one at the gym is 45 pounds the one at my house i am guessing is in between 55 and 65lbs
Olympic (wider holes on the weight plates) and standard (smaller, threaded holes) are two different kinds of weights.
What kind do you have at the gym and what kind do have at home? What excercise were you doing? Were you using a Smith press at the gym? Need more info, dude.

If you’re saying the one at home is heavier, then you’ve answered your own question. I’m guessing the bar at the gym is a standard 22-lb. bar and the one at your house is a 45-lb. Olympic bar.
Either that, or you’re using a Smith press at the gym, which makes the bar easier to lift.
