Why Buy the Polar FS2?
If you are just starting your fitness campaign, the Polar FS2 may well be the heart rate monitor sports watch for you. Polar is the world leader in the manufacture of sport watches, especially in the heart rate monitoring category, and, in the Polar Fs2, Polar designers have come up with a good basic heart rate monitor.
Nothing could be easier to operate than this Polar sport watch, it has only one button, period. Nothing at all complicated about the FS2, even the most physically inept and least techno savvy users will find this Polar FS2 sports watch a refreshingly simple and useful training tool for improving their fitness level or athletic performance.
With only one button, it’s easy to start, the chest band is comfortable, but needs to be well moistened in order to accurately pick up your HR or heart rate, and, if you’re sweating, it will register even better. Some gym LifeFitness machines and a few of the other gym machines have ‘Polar Heartrate Ready’ logos on them, which allows the machine itself to display your heart beats without your even having to wear the sports watch.
The Polar FS2 is probably the least expensive HRM that will record both an average and a maximum heart rate throughout the duration of your workout. Of course, there are other Polar sport watches that will do everything except compute the size of your next door neighbor’s bra, but for a basic heart HRM, the FS2 will help you get a jump on your goal of cardiovascular fitness. Many folks just do not realize the importance of keeping their hearts fit until they experience a heart event or attack.
While I was visiting a cardio rehabilitation center recently, I noticed that in several different strategic locations throughout the facility there were signs that said, “exercise is medicine”. The heart patients that were there exercising all wore heart rate monitors that displayed their various ongoing heart rates on central display screens. When patients were exercising too fast and their HR had exceeded their assigned HR zones, the helpful physical therapists would tell that particular patient to slow down, and, conversely, it they were exercising to slow, they would advise getting the lead out.
Although, as we’ve already said, the Polar Fs2 is a basic HR monitor, it does have several other excellent features. It is stylish, not one of those big bulky gadgets that tend to completely dominate your wrist. The FS2 tracks your HR and exercise time continuously while at the same time providing both your average and current heart rate, and it has both audible and visible alarms to let you know when you get above or below your target HR zone. Maintaining and training in your preferred HR zone is just a snap with this simple-to-use personal training aid.
The display screen is large and can be easily read from arm’s distance away. For those of you that exercise or run at night, it has a backlight. The Polar heart rate monitor FS2 sport watch also has a weekday and date indicator, a wireless transmitter with a super comfortable elastic chest band. And, if you are like me, and you hate to get home with a new gizmo only to find that you have to go out and buy batteries before you can use it; you’ll be please to learn that all the batteries for the Polar FS2 come included.
So, to sum it up, for a basic heart rate monitor sports watch, you simply can’t go wrong with the FS2 heart rate, it’s made by Polar, the industry leader. The Polar FS2 heart rate monitor is a reliable, easy-to-use, and it is an inexpensive personal training tool to help you kick your fitness and performance up to the next level.
